Senior Medical Assistant Certified- ENT (Medical Center)
About the role
The Senior Medical Assistant Certified- ENT position at Houston Methodist Medical Center is responsible for providing comprehensive support to physicians and managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic. This role requires a minimum of five years of medical assistant experience with a focus on chronic disease management or a specialty discipline.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary paperwork and preparations are completed.
- Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to phlebotomy, EKG, and urinalysis.
- Documents all patient interactions and procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinates patient care with other healthcare providers and external resources as needed.
- Ensures the cleanliness and sterilization of examination and treatment areas.
- Provides patient education and counseling on various health topics.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
- Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, or Registered Medical Assistant.
- BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Pay
Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually.
Schedule
Day shift, Monday through Friday.
