About the role
The Media Data Analyst will lead the evolution of FactSet’s Media data offering, focusing on the TMT sector. This role involves extracting, cleaning, and transforming large datasets, collaborating with clients to understand their workflows, and developing innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the extraction, cleaning, and transformation of large, complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Take control of data products, using human-in-the-loop data curation and validation software to adapt to changing standards and reporting requirements.
- Partner with sales/consulting, data providers, and clients to understand their workflows, pain points, and feature requests; position FactSet’s offerings against these needs and competitors.
- Translate client insights into clear product requirements, specifications, and user stories that delight and exceed client expectations.
- Work closely with engineering, QA, UX, other content developers, and specialized data teams to deliver value to clients.
- Mentor and train team members in content collection and integration processes, product workflows, and best practices.
- Monitor and identify opportunities for FactSet to own and operate data collection, reducing reliance on third-party data spend.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant experience, within the Media or broader TMT sectors with a focus on Media
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI/Tableau, SQL, Python) for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and workflow automation
- Hands-on experience preparing data for statistical and machine learning models
- Familiarity with distributed data systems and cloud platforms (any of AWS S3/EC2/Redshift, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Experience building dashboards and data visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate data findings into actionable business narratives
- Past experience managing multiple projects and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a hands-on, solution-driven approach
- CFA/CPA designation or capital markets experience a plus

Pay
The budgeted salary for this role in the states of Colorado, Connecticut, and New York is $104,000-$130,000.
