Senior Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Minneapolis office and be part of our international engineering practice. This individual will design HVAC for laboratories, clean rooms, healthcare, and high-tech clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Work independently with limited supervision to complete both small and large projects.
• Serve as a discipline representative in client meetings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients.
• Be well organized and demonstrate critical thinking to quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution.
• Have knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA and ICC codes.
• Experience with analysis and layout of Plumbing and/or HVAC systems, hydronic piping, medical gas, air distribution and associated products and materials.
• Serve as technical advisor for team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections.
• Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Thorough working knowledge of relevant engineering software: REVIT, CAD, load calculation software, Excel.
• Construction phase experience: submittal reviews, on-site inspections, RFIs, change orders, etc.
• Plumbing and Medical Gas design experience for hospitals and labs.
• Experience preparing proposals, interviewing, communicating with clients.

Sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $100000 to $125000 per year.
