Basic Qualifications
- Either 4+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 6+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 8+ years equivalent experience with a Highschool diploma/GED.
Desired Qualifications
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Power Plant or industrial mechanical equipment.
- Previous work experience at a power generation facility.
- Experience with steam generators, coal/natural gas/fuel oil boilers and combustion equipment.
- Knowledge and experience with mechanical systems and equipment – pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, valves.
- Mechanical piping and systems (BPVC, ASME Section I, Section VIII, B31.1 Power Piping) – design, operations, and maintenance.
- Safety/relief valve maintenance and compliance requirements.
- Metallurgical and welding knowledge including testing, NDE, and QA/QC.
- Bearing testing, tribology, vibration analysis.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Proficient in applying principles of project management.
- Capable of learning quickly, working independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to constant changing work needs and priorities.
- Demonstrated experience showing familiarity and knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple assignments.
- Ability to satisfactorily meet the physical job requirements including walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling.
Work Location
This role will be based at Cayuga Generation Station. The hiring manager may elect to base this position at another Midwest generating facility (Gibson, Noblesville, Or Edwardsport) if the successful candidate is currently located at that facility.
