About the Role

Performs technical activities on assigned projects while adhering to discipline-specific policies and procedures. Participates in technical studies, investigations, and designs, seeking guidance from senior engineers for complex solutions. Provides technical direction to Designers and CAD Operators to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures company technical policies and procedures are followed during project execution.
  • Assists in developing design approaches and concepts; requests guidance from senior staff for complex solutions.
  • Provides discipline-specific engineering for systems and designs of low to moderate complexity.
  • Delegates work tasks, collaborates with subordinate staff, and reviews delegated work for accuracy.
  • Assists in executing technical training programs for design staff.
  • Contributes to proposals and client presentations as requested.
  • Provides feedback to Project Managers for performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates project designs with other disciplines, including attending project meetings.
  • Performs engineering studies, design analyses, and assists in establishing budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Reviews shop drawings, records changes, and communicates with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.
  • Performs on-site inspections during construction and coordinates design requirements with contractors and suppliers.
  • Uses design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Actively participates in professional organizations and client groups to enhance the firm’s technical reputation.
  • Completes assigned work within the allotted time frame and budget.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides informal task supervision of CAD Operators, Designers, Junior Associates, Associates, Engineers, and Engineer IIs at the direction of the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Professionally Licensed Engineer with a Bachelor’s (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Experience with consulting firms and leading design projects is required.
  • Healthcare project experience is strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License required.
