Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Solutions - CMTA
About the role
CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Energy Solutions division. This division is the fastest-growing part of our expanding company, focusing on performance contracting, consulting engineering, and zero energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions can provide long-term value.
- Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, reinforcing our value proposition in both technical and financial terms.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
- Participate in business development efforts including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
- Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
- Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
- Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.
- Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract.
- Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
- Lead the commissioning process to validate performance.
- Support the client through the warranty phase as needed.
- Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report.
- Demonstrate knowledge of state specific K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
- Undergrad degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university.
