Senior Mechanical Engineer
Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design, optimization, and validation of advanced mobile mechanical systems used in demanding industrial and oil & gas applications. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, mechanical creativity, and building equipment that performs reliably in high-pressure, high-load, and high-cycle environments.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development — Engineer mobile mechanical systems including hydraulic equipment, lifting systems, and field-service machinery
Performance Optimization — Improve reliability, efficiency, and durability for harsh operating conditions
CAD Modeling — Create detailed CAD models and drawings using Inventor (preferred), Pro-E, or SolidWorks
Prototype & Validation — Test, refine, and validate equipment to meet API, ASME, and internal quality standards
Troubleshooting — Diagnose field issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement
Cross-Functional Collaboration — Work closely with design, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust, field-ready solutions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
5+ years of mechanical design experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial equipment
Proficiency in Inventor, Pro-E, or SolidWorks
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, power units, and mechanical assemblies
Proven ability to manage projects from concept through deployment
Excellent communication, documentation, and technical reporting skills
Work Environment
100% On-Site at our Minneapolis-St. Paul engineering facility
Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, fabricators, and field technicians
Occasional travel (≤10%) to customer sites and fabrication partners
