Responsibilities
- Work with Advance Engineering, Manufacturing, Controls, and Software engineers to create innovative custom automation solutions.
- Lead small design teams and provide mentorship within the team.
- Direct internal and external design review meetings to ensure the overall system design is consistent with PAR's high standards and unique customer and project requirements.
- Support machine build and checkout activities and validate new design concepts through proof-of-concept and feasibility studies in our robotics lab.
- Shape the direction of the Mechanical Engineering function by serving as one of the key technical voices and influencing standards and improvements in design and build processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in design of automated manufacturing systems or similar
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling packages, including SolidWorks
- Ability to manage system design from concept phase through modeling and detailing on a tight timeline
- Demonstrated ability to own and drive projects to completion and consistently deliver on commitments
- Willingness to travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery (10-25% travel may be required)
