Senior Mechanical Engineer
About the role
This role supports Custom Engineered Product Development in both Liquid Cooling and Air Cooled product families for Hyperscale customers. Our focus is to develop optimized solutions using Industry Standards and best practices, following design support from cradle-to-grave. There is an immediate need and great opportunity to support the market shift as major players race to advance AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Work with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to develop product requirements based on customer needs.
- Analyze systems using engineering tools including FEA, analytical formulas, and benchmark designs.
- Run sizing and optimization exercises for pumps, valves, and flow control devices.
- Design piping layouts and select materials (e.g., PVC, Stainless Steel, Copper, HDPE).
- Use DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFMA tools to improve design quality and reliability.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure full documentation for commercialization.
- Collaborate with operations to integrate designs into current manufacturing capabilities.
- Develop advanced, value-based designs in conjunction with operations.
- Work with sales and service to refine current designs and incorporate future needs.
- Serve as a mentor to junior mechanical engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- BSME from an accredited university or applicable engineering work experience.
- 3-5 years of engineering work experience (HVAC preferred).
- CFD (computational fluid dynamics) experience preferred.
- Self-starter with ability to work cross-functionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
- MSME degree.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD, or Revit.
