About the role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to push the boundaries of 3D printing technology. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and engineering the most advanced 3D printers, ensuring they perform exceptionally, look beautiful, and are user-friendly.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative solutions to complex 3D printing challenges
- Lead a team of mechanical, systems, and electrical engineers in designing, reviewing, and guiding junior colleagues
- Prototype new systems, mechanisms, test materials, and research 3D printing technologies
- Architect the numerous subsystems of a 3D printer for optimal performance, manufacturability, and reliability
- Engineer the most advanced 3D printers on the market
Requirements
- Submit a portfolio or sample of your work with your application
- 5+ years of industry experience in electro-mechanical systems
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a background in electro-mechanical systems
- Familiarity with thermal systems, optical systems, sensor design, controllers, structures, and algorithms
- Experience with part design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques
- Effective communication skills with vendors and suppliers globally
- Familiarity with various manufacturing methods for high-volume and high-performance products
- Hands-on experience in prototyping and solving problems across disciplines
- Experience with the full product development cycle
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio of previous work in electro-mechanical systems
- Desire to build a precision tool that is both beautiful and functional
- Experience with programming languages such as Python
- Understanding of industrial design principles
Skills
- Familiarity with polymers and polymer chemistry
- Electronics and circuit design
- PLM/document control systems

Pay
The Annual Base Pay Range for this role is $117,000—$158,000 USD.
