About the role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to push the boundaries of 3D printing technology. You will be responsible for creating innovative solutions to complex problems, leading a team of engineers, and designing high-performance 3D printers.
Responsibilities
- Create and prototype new systems, mechanisms, and test materials
- Design and review the numerous subsystems of a 3D printer for performance, manufacturability, and reliability
- Architect and engineer the most advanced 3D printers in the market
- Lead the design and creation of precision tools that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing
- Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers globally
- Work across disciplines to prototype and solve problems
- Engage in the full product development cycle from concept to production
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience in electro-mechanical systems
- A strong portfolio of previous work demonstrating your ability to design and engineer high-performance 3D printers
- Familiarity with thermal systems, optical systems, sensor design, controllers, structures, and algorithms
- Experience with part design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques
- Effective communication skills with vendors and suppliers
- Familiarity with various manufacturing methods for creating high-volume and high-performance products
- Hands-on experience in designing and solving problems
- Experience with the full product development cycle
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio of previous work in electro-mechanical systems
- Desire to build a precision tool that is both beautiful and functional
- Experience with polymers and polymer chemistry
- Basic electronics and circuit design knowledge
- Experience with PLM/document control systems
- Programming skills (Python)
- Experience with industrial design

Compensation
The Annual Base Pay Range For This Role Is $117,000—$158,000 USD.
