About the role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides technical leadership and expertise for vessel construction and repair. This position develops practical, cost-effective mechanical engineering solutions while collaborating with internal departments, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project execution. The role offers office-based design support and hands-on shipyard support to verify installations, resolve issues, and ensure mechanical, piping, and machinery systems meet requirements, standards, and regulations. Domestic travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review mechanical, piping, and machinery engineering deliverables (calculations, drawings, specifications, ECNs)
- Design and support mechanical, piping, and machinery systems for construction and repair while ensuring regulatory requirements
- Provide support reviewing installations, answering questions, and assisting with tests and troubleshooting
- Coordinate with internal departments, customers, and vendors to support schedule, budget, and delivery
- Other duties as assigned
