About the role
Echodyne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-growing team. We offer the world's first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for industries such as autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. Our radars combine patented metamaterials technology with powerful software to deliver unprecedented performance at commercial price points.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical solutions for electro-mechanical products with deep understanding of thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations.
- Advise RF, Microwave, Digital & Antenna engineering teams on mechanical, environmental, and thermal constraints to achieve production-ready solutions.
- Apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards in design and documentation.
- Perform hand and computational analysis for modal, stress, and thermal considerations.
- Collaborate on PCB design and packaging with attention to mechanical considerations.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience.
- Eligible to handle export-controlled data (ITAR, EAR).
- Advanced-to-expert proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Experience designing electro-mechanical products for production.
Skills
Required
- Mechanical engineering design for electro-mechanical products.
- Thermal, electrical, and environmental design considerations.
- PCB design and packaging from a mechanical perspective.
- ASME Y14.5 GD&T implementation and interpretation.
- Hand and computational analysis (modal, stress, thermal).
Desired
- Proficiency in ANSYS or similar analysis software for thermal and structural simulations.
- Experience leading mechanical design of RF or millimeter-wave transmit/receive modules (or equivalent PWA-based transceivers) at X-band or above through qualification and product launch.
- ASME Y14.5 GD&T certification.
- Experience designing and certifying products for IP rating requirements.
- Knowledge of production processes and design-to-cost objectives.
- Relationships with local fabrication shops.
- Design approaches for RF isolation requirements.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role is $124,733—$187,048 USD.
