About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will develop control system hardware requirements, guide Rolls-Royce approved suppliers through the detailed design process, and oversee the validation testing of delivered hardware to ensure it meets all technical and program requirements. This role spans the project lifecycle from requirements definition to final production release.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical control units, overseeing the design and analysis of components and leading validation testing
  • Coordinate efforts with design, purchasing, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure program needs are met
  • Identify and manage project risks related to technical, cost, supply chain, and schedule aspects
  • Engage in technical, manufacturing, and supply chain issues to enable quick decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or control systems
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or
  • PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Preferred Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or control systems
  • Experience working in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processes
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques, with understanding of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards

Pay and Schedule

  • $98,566 - $160,169 Annually
  • Hybrid working pattern with a minimum requirement of attending the workplace three days per week
