ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical assemblies and systems from concept through production.
  • Create and maintain complex 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of SolidWorks PDM
  • Perform advanced modeling, analysis, and SolidWorks' Simulation activities to validate designs and optimize performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and design support throughout the product lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and field support.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design reviews to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply, and management teams to support successful product execution.
  • Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, and operational issues while developing effective corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, standards, and process improvements.
  • Support customer interactions, technical presentations, and design reviews as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, and highly engineered products.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks, including advanced modeling, assemblies, configurations, drawings, and design documentation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
  • Experience performing engineering calculations, structural analysis, and design validation activities.
  • Able to lead technical projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Routine learning and applying new information and/or skills.
  • Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Occasional travel may be required - 20%
  • Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 45lbs.
  • Moderate environment temperature and noise level.
  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
