This role requires a strong background in BOM ownership, root cause analysis, DFSS principles, and supplier collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring experience from fast-paced product development cycles, working closely with cross-functional teams from concept to commercial mass production through end-of-life.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design for sustaining our portfolio of EGMs.
  • Own the maintenance of BOMs for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Refurbished Product Introduction (RPI).
  • Collaborate with internal partners—Electrical Engineering, Quality, Field Service, and Manufacturing Engineering & Operations teams—to define, develop, and implement mechanical solutions.
  • Implement best practices such as tolerance analysis, GD&T, DFMEA, and DFM/DFA to ensure designs are reliable, manufacturable, serviceable, safe, and compliant with product and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and iterate 3D SolidWorks models, 2D drawings, and manage BOM lifecycle for the life of a product.
  • Own Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from creation through implementation using PLM tools.
  • Work with FEA simulation experts to optimize designs.
  • Conduct design reviews, lead root cause analysis, and implement improvements to product design and reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support organizational design best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in new product design and manufacturing with a focus on mechanical engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of injection molding, die casting, sheet metal, and machining processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-volume product development, DFM/DFA principles, and refurbishment principles.
  • Hands-on experience with product testing, prototype evaluation, and reliability testing.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and material selection for recyclability and environmental impact.
  • Proficiency with 3D & 2D CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience with BOM management using PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter preferred).
  • Experience creating and processing Engineering Change Orders.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching.
