Senior Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design and develop medical device systems using in-depth mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance products from concept through development and production.
- Deliver project milestones with minimal supervision, using creativity, sound engineering judgment, and independent decision-making.
- Serve as the technical authority in areas of expertise and lead projects or major subsystems.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 6–9 years of experience with a BS degree or 3–6 years with an MS degree.
- Expert-level understanding of mechanical design, detailing, prototyping, design for manufacturability, production processes, and testing for Class II and/or Class III medical devices.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex mechanical problems efficiently and effectively.
- Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prominent project planning, organization, and technical leadership capabilities.
Qualifications
- Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
- Ability to lead technical projects and communicate effectively with customers.
- Proficiency in Solidworks.
Skills

Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr. The expected starting salary for this position is $100,000 to $135,000 depending on qualifications. Pay and Schedule
The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr. The expected starting salary for this position is $100,000 to $135,000 depending on qualifications.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will apply standard operating procedures and extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering best practices, standards, and technologies to design, develop, test, and support medical device systems. This position involves collaborating cross-functionally to advance products from concept through development and into production. The ideal candidate will operate with minimal technical supervision and will be responsible for delivering milestones on projects of moderate to high complexity.
Schedule
This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Work Environment
The work environment involves using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment to design and develop medical devices. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work in a collaborative setting with opportunities to lead projects and influence product development. Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
