Power Your Future with Qualus as a Senior Maximo Application Engineer. The Application Engineer supports the design, implementation, integration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of critical utility and enterprise applications. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert responsible for application configuration, customization, system integrations, troubleshooting, user support, and project delivery across operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) environments. Our Application Engineers must possess deep technical expertise in IBM Maximo and will work closely with our clients' Maximo support vendors, stakeholders, IT Operations, IT Customer Service, GIS, and Data Management teams to ensure effective utilization and optimization of our clients' two Maximo systems. Responsibilities Configuration and Customization: Configure and customize IBM Maximo modules to meet specific business requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, workflow configuration, screen customization, and data integration. Development: Develop and maintain Maximo applications, including scripting, automation, and integrations using Maximo's development tools (e.g., Application Designer, Automation Scripts, TRM Rules Manager, Java, SQL, Oracle). Patching and Upgrades: Participate in Maximo patching and upgrade projects, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations. System Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for Maximo users, diagnosing and resolving system issues, and performing root cause analysis. Data Management: Manage and maintain Maximo data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Perform data migrations and integrations as needed. Licensing: Proactively manage the IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) license lifecycle, including obtaining quotes, submitting purchase requests, and ensuring timely renewals to prevent service disruptions. Reporting and Analysis: Develop and generate reports and ad hoc queries using Maximo reporting tools and SQL. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configuration, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Lead and mentor: Lead and train IT staff on IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) support, ensuring they can effectively provide backup for system maintenance, troubleshooting, and user assistance. Best Practices: Adhere to IBM Maximo best practices and standards Travel: Ability to travel between two client office locations as needed Minimum Qualifications Proven experience as an IBM Maximo consultant or contractor Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting enterprise applications in utility, energy, industrial or infrastructure environments. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proficiency with scripting and development technologies such as Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Shell scripting, or similar languages. Professional certifications related to enterprise applications, cloud technologies, IBM Maximo or utility systems. Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a valid Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) Candidates must be willing to work hybrid in Sacramento, California. No travel expenses will be offered for a candidate outside of the Sacramento region. Physical Requirements Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines. Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, and to handle other computer components. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals .
