About the role
We're building a brand-new, US-based, fully remote game studio developing new slot games and we're looking for an experienced Senior Mathematician to develop the math models that power our games.
Responsibilities
- Define the mathematical profile of the game, including the game's balance, volatility, and player experience
- Create and maintain the game’s PAR sheets and other math documentation, using both Excel and simulations
- Work closely with the Game Designer, prototyping team, and engineering team to ensure the math is implemented accurately and follows the overall game design
- Playtest and iterate on your game’s math and mechanics with an eye toward creating the best player experience possible
- Collaborate with other mathematicians to provide gameplay feedback and recommendations for improvement on each other’s games
- Regularly play competitors’ games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanics
- Set and share best practices, tools, and workflows within the math team
- Mentor new junior mathematicians as our studio grows
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing math models for real-money slot games for iGaming or land-based markets
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong expertise using Excel to model probabilities and perform data analysis
- Familiarity programming in C++, C#, or Python
- Excellent written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globe
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectations
