Senior Game Mathematician

About the role

At IGT, we design and build casino games played by millions of players worldwide. A casino slot game is just like your favorite video game, except our loot boxes give you actual money… in real life. We use the same techniques and tools as video game companies around the world. So, if you love to play and make games, we’re searching for a talented Game Mathematician based in Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, and analyze mathematical models that are the core of our games.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Game Design leadership, to design and develop mathematical models for casino slot games, including RTP, volatility, and overall game behavior.
• Create math for original titles for land-based slot games using Excel and/or programming math simulations/calculations.
• Produce clear and detailed mathematical documentation (math models, game logic).
• Test and validate game outcomes using Excel, simulations, calculation programs, and internal tools.
• Support development teams with mathematical insights and ensure accuracy throughout production.
• Review documents for error and misspellings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics).
• Solid experience with MS Excel.
• Strong programming knowledge (C++, C#, or similar language).
• Mathematical experience with casino slot games.
• A love for games in general and a strong desire to learn the industry.
