Apply Digital’s Marketing Services division is a rapidly expanding full-service MarTech team with members across the US, Europe, LATAM, and Asia. As a personalization agency, it bridges creative, marketing, and strategy, specializing in cross-channel content strategy, creation, and distribution (email, paid social, push, SMS) and MarTech implementations. The team works with 50+ clients, ranging from companies like YETI, Upside, and Nutrafol to established brands like A+E Networks, Afterpay, and Stanley Black & Decker.

About the role

The Senior Marketing Automation Specialist will help manage increasing workload by producing email templates and push notifications, collaborating with developers and customer success managers, and ensuring compliance with client standards and email marketing best practices. The role involves working on diverse projects with varying code structures, implementing dynamic logic, and testing across multiple marketing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Produce email templates and push notifications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a wide variety of clients.
  • Collaborate with a team of highly skilled email developers and customer success managers to resolve potential issues in email deployments.
  • Participate in email stand-ups to prioritize workload and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Work closely with the client team to field requests, answer questions, and collaborate on work-in-progress tasks.
  • Ensure emails comply with clients' standards, email marketing best practices, and CAN-Spam laws.
  • Test email messages to ensure proper formats and templates using tools such as Litmus and Email on Acid.
  • Develop CSS styling and implement platform-specific code to incorporate dynamic logic inside templates.
  • Implement programs inside each platform, including making mock API calls via tools like Postman, and handle edge cases to filter users into different flows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of email production and development experience.
  • Mastery of HTML and CSS specific to email.
  • Proficiency with JSON.
  • Understanding of APIs, including proficiency in making GET and POST calls.
  • Understanding of how a data feed works.
  • Knowledge of email code structure and responsive design for different devices.
  • Strong email etiquette and ability to communicate with testing, QC, and clients directly.
  • Ability to take feedback, clarify it, and make adjustments as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Platform experience with Iterable, Braze, Klaviyo, Marketo, Simon Data, or Blueshift.
  • Knowledge of Liquid, Python, Handlebars, Django, or JINJA.
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and Figma.
