Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer, Robotics
About the role
As a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer at Mytra, you will join our Manufacturing Engineering team during a period of rapid scaling. Our team is currently focused on scaling manufacturing processes and translating engineering designs into robust production systems. You will be a hands-on, analytical specialist responsible for architecting comprehensive test strategies, improving first-pass yield, and ensuring every robot leaving our facility operates flawlessly in demanding warehouse environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect & Optimize Test Coverage: Assess manufacturing test coverage, identify quality risks, and design strategic plans for upstream, in-line test stations to significantly boost end-of-line first-pass yields.
- Develop Automated Test Infrastructure: Design and build automated test stations by pairing mechatronics expertise with Python-based automation to create scalable, reliable testing infrastructure for complex robotic systems.
- Manage Manufacturing Data Systems: Define data collection requirements and implement robust data management solutions to track testing metrics, support statistical process control, and drive continuous quality improvement.
- Drive Quality & System Bring-up: Own end-of-line testing operations and system bring-up procedures, utilizing root cause analysis and failure mode identification to resolve quality issues alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering, ideally with complex electro-mechanical systems, robotics, or warehouse automation equipment in production environments.
- Proven experience with automated test station design, Python programming for test automation, mechatronics development, and hardware test frameworks (e.g., Python, LabVIEW).
- Understanding of end-of-line testing processes, system bring-up procedures, manufacturing data systems, statistical process control, and data-driven quality methodologies for complex electro-mechanical systems or robotics.
- Demonstrated openness, inquisitiveness, constant ambition, and a willingness to embrace uncertainty, recognize mistakes, and pivot quickly.
- Ability to excel at cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineering teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and effectively communicate technical findings.
Nice to have
- Direct experience designing and deploying automated test stations specifically for warehouse automation or mobile robotics platforms.
- Experience setting up end-to-end manufacturing test data pipelines and automated reporting dashboards.
- Strong background in software engineering best practices applied to manufacturing test scripts and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) automation.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high-growth company backed by top-tier VCs.
- Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents.
- 401(k) plans and employer-subsidized life insurance.
- Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ—we eat and share stories together at the “long” table.
- Generous PTO and company-paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together.
- Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity.
- Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity.
- Commuter benefits, including up to $150 monthly commuter benefit.
- Lively, modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build, and test phases.
- Fully equipped onsite gym and showers at headquarters.
Pay
Compensation for this position will be set based on the candidate's experience level and location. The posted salary band is applicable only to the San Francisco Bay Area and is subject to change.
