Responsibilities

The role involves two main areas of responsibility: New Product Introduction (NPI) and Factory Sustaining.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Responsibilities:
    • Working with the hardware design engineering teams to define an efficient test strategy for boards, modules, and systems
    • Defining test hardware, test fixtures, and embedded test resources within the product to improve testability
    • Providing level of effort estimates to the NPI product manager to support scheduling of development and factory introduction activity
    • Developing manufacturing test software within a LabVIEW/Teststand/Python environment
    • Actively participating in the definition and evolution of the manufacturing test software environment
  • Factory Sustaining Responsibilities:
    • Supporting production activity within ST Engineering iDirect by helping to resolve production issues as they occur, with emphasis on understanding and resolving the root cause of the problem
    • Identifying opportunities for manufacturing test cost reduction, such as test yield improvements, and test time reductions, without impacting outgoing product quality
    • Working with our IT team to evaluate and improve our data collection, and test metric reporting capabilities
    • Representing Manufacturing test at Business Review meetings with teams at our manufacturing sites

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience, and 5+ years of industry experience within manufacturing test engineering.

Skills

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in the test engineering profession
  • 5+ years experience developing manufacturing test software using Labview/Teststand Python
  • Programming experience including instrument control, interfacing with SQL databases, and source management best practices
  • Experience in hardware design an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve desired results from general objectives
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with contractors, and engineering teams worldwide
  • Excellent communication skills: listening, speaking, and in writing; able to express thoughts and concepts to a variety of people with different skill levels

Pay

The pay range for this position is $91,000-165,000. The actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and other business or legal considerations.
