About the role

Using knowledge of and experience with automated production equipment in manufacturing, you will serve as the subject-matter expert for automated production equipment with a focus on downstream assembly operations. The role drives and supports manufacturing automation, particularly in assembly processes and automated production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Improve system and equipment reliability for core processes to meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of improvement plans and requirements for capacity expansion and future production systems and processes.
  • Lead and support troubleshooting and issue resolution of critical production equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Manage the commissioning and acceptance testing of new production equipment.
  • Oversee the technology transfer (receiver function) of new products and processes into mass production.
  • Support validation activities and participate on project teams for new facility, equipment, or process startups.
  • Lead and support the identification of novel production equipment for next-generation manufacturing systems.
  • Promote the use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.
  • Provide the highest level of technical expertise in automated production equipment, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Collaborate closely with production teams, machine builders, process/product development groups, and the quality department on performance improvements, troubleshooting, and critical event response.
  • Handle non-conformances, deviations, and corrective and preventative actions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar (U.S. equivalent).
  • Five (5) years of experience demonstrating the ability to perform the stated job duties, including experience with:
    • Automated production equipment in manufacturing.
    • Troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes and equipment.
    • Root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
    • Pick-and-place systems.
    • Quality management systems.
    • Computer-aided design (CAD) or similar software.
    • Industrial programming software systems.
  • Willingness to work off-hours (early morning, late night, or weekends) depending on project status and priorities.
