Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase yield, reduce waste, improve quality, and optimize production performance.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective actions to resolve process and production challenges.
- Mentor and support production personnel to drive consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and waste reduction.
- Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Partner with engineering, quality, research, and production teams to support new product launches and manufacturing scale-up activities.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality management systems, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and support safety initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven methodologies to improve process capability and product quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Ceramics Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may also be considered.
- Several years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience within advanced manufacturing, injection molding, composites, ceramics, casting, or similar process-driven environments.
- Experience improving manufacturing processes through data analysis, statistical methods, and root-cause investigation.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologies.
- Experience utilizing SPC, DOE, and other process optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with CAD software and tooling or fixture design.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, quality, and production teams.
- Prior experience working within regulated manufacturing or aerospace-related environments is advantageous.
