About the role

You will lead and manage manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives. You will design, develop, and implement tooling, fixtures, and production solutions for complex assemblies. You will drive process optimization to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost performance. You will create and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation. You will collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, supply chain, production, and program teams. You will support production teams with technical guidance, training, and troubleshooting expertise. You will plan and coordinate manufacturing activities in line with production schedules and resource constraints. You will implement and promote statistical process control methods to ensure consistent product quality. You will analyze process capability and identify opportunities to improve control, repeatability, and performance. You will specify and source equipment, tooling, and materials required to support manufacturing operations. You will contribute to long-term process improvement strategies aligned to business goals.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a low-to-medium volume production environment
  • Strong understanding of precision manufacturing, including GD&T principles
  • Experience with CAD tools and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve manufacturing processes and workflows
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and quality-focused methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware production
  • Knowledge of optical alignment, thermal systems, or vacuum technologies
  • Experience supporting qualification or flight hardware programs
