Senior Manufacturing Engineer I
Job Summary
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering initiatives for new product introductions, production transfers, and operations transformation efforts. Services may include management of DFM feedback loops, supplier relations, fixture/tooling design, process development, product reliability, project management, and general operations leadership responsibilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership of cross-functional teams within operations transformation and new product development projects
- Serving as a liaison between operations and suppliers, managing vendor relationships
- Supporting a wide variety of manufacturing processes at vendors, such as machining, finishing, forging, casting, cleaning, heat treatment, passivation, anodization, etc
- Improving manufacturing process efficiency and driving down costs, while maintaining high performance and quality
- Maintaining and improving controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, protocols, and rationales
- Creating project plans and schedules for work activities
- Communicate (written and verbal) with appropriate personnel from other departments and external suppliers
Expected Areas of Competence
- Sound understanding of concepts and principles for manufacturing and new product processing and a basic knowledge of these elements in areas such as Quality, Development, or Sourcing
- Full working knowledge of the development process and procedures, as well as other supporting department needs and capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of mechanisms required to implement processes and manage product flow
- Competence with drafting standards, CAD modeling software (Solidworks), and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Ability to effectively work within a cross-functional team to complete critical project tasks
- Ability to balance marketing, manufacturing, and design requirements to meet customer requirements
- Ability to lead and prioritize medium complexity project assignments and complete work in a timely manner
- Good problem-solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools
- Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite and Project proficiency
Education/Experience Requirements
- B.S. in mechanical, industrial, or other engineering science
- Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Knowledge in Lean Principles and or Six Sigma or other problem solving methodology is preferred

- The anticipated pay range for this position is $105,000.00-$125,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and internal equity
