Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet output goals, production schedules, and on-time delivery commitments.
- Manage manpower, equipment, and capacity planning to optimize throughput and efficiency.
- Monitor production performance and drive improvements across productivity, yield, downtime, WIP control, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure smooth shift handoffs and execution discipline through clear communication and accountability.
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, standard work, line balancing) to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance labor efficiency and reduce cycle time.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Facilities, and IT teams to ensure stable execution and rapid issue resolution.
- Support NPO / ramp-up activities and production readiness reviews when required.
- Prepare daily/weekly performance reports and communicate risks, action plans, and progress to leadership.
- Ensure product quality meets internal standards and customer expectations; support audit readiness and compliance activities.
- Drive issue containment, root cause analysis, and corrective & preventive actions in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.
- Maintain adherence to SOPs, ESD controls, process discipline, and traceability requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing operations comply with all applicable safety regulations and company EHS policies to prevent workplace incidents.
- Manage manufacturing budgets and drive cost optimization through process improvements, material waste reduction, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Lead and develop line leaders, and operators through coaching, training plans, and performance management.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
- Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, and workforce planning to improve team capability and flexibility.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of consumer electronics manufacturing processes.
- Familiar with ERP/MES systems and manufacturing data analysis tools to support production decision-making.
- Possession of an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry training certificate.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, KPI reporting, and executive-level presentations.
- Multilingual communication skills preferred, including English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to lead and collaborate in cross-cultural environments.
- Strong team motivation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills; capable of performing effectively under high-pressure situations.
- Able to rapidly identify and resolve production issues to protect output and delivery performance, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within electronics/EMS environments.
- 1+ years of people management experience in a production setting.
- Proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, high-volume or high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing execution, quality control, and operational KPIs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
