Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Spartronics is a leading electronics manufacturing and engineering services company supporting high-reliability customers in Aerospace & Defense, medical, industrial, and other demanding markets. Our Plaistow, NH facility builds complex products including EMS assemblies, HLA’s (High-Level Assemblies) & Integration, box builds, and electromechanical systems.
About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys being on the production floor, solving problems, improving processes, and working directly with production, quality, operations, and customers. This is more than a traditional engineering role—you'll be directly involved in troubleshooting, NPI, DFM/DFA, process development, root cause analysis, engineering changes, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with box builds, EMS/electronics manufacturing, and electromechanical assemblies, along with experience supporting Aerospace & Defense customers and regulated/high-reliability manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on manufacturing engineering activities and solve problems directly on the production floor.
- Develop and improve processes for complex electronic and electromechanical assemblies and box builds.
- Support NPI, DFM/DFA, engineering changes, documentation, and production readiness.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, yield improvement, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and customers.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers.
- Help build the engineering organization as our Plaistow operation continues to grow.
Requirements
Citizenship Requirement: ITAR Regulations require all candidates be a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee. We cannot sponsor Visas.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3-7+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in EMS or complex contract manufacturing.
- Proven experience with box builds, electronics/EMS, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, process improvement, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with NPI, ECOs, BOMs, drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience supporting Aerospace & Defense customers, including applicable customer, quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions.
- A hands-on mindset and desire to grow into an engineering leadership role.
