The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will primarily be focused on Production Sustaining, as well as creating and implementing process improvements and strategies to optimize manufacturing efficiency. They will also be working together with the technician workforce to provide production floor support, as well as being a cross-functional resource to liaison between operations and other engineering teams to ensure communication and compliance across all facets of manufacturing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize process and design for component manufacturability, assembly, and test.
- Ensure product change rollout risks are identified, escalated, and mitigated through manufacturing process control and end of line testing.
- Drive collaborative efforts with the Operations teams to ensure product update release meets cross functional requirements such as BOM structuring, component procurement strategies, etc.
- Assess process flow and implement Lean / Six Sigma.
- Create fixturing/tooling to support increasing production to scale with demand.
- Assist Junior level Engineers in sustaining and continuous improvement efforts for projects focused on manufacturing and manufacturability.
- Work with Quality to decrease NCMR and other CAPA related issues.
- Report on KPI, OKR, and other monthly metrics for management.
- Support cost reduction initiatives by investigating material costs, manufacturing and machining processes, and being conscious of lead time and quality impact.
