Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing
About the role
The Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing role at 3M involves collaborating and leading significant components of the global transfer pricing program. This role provides leadership to manage transfer pricing initiatives and operates as a strategic partner with stakeholders globally within and outside of Tax.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and interpretation of 3M’s transfer pricing policies
- Provide technical leadership to evaluate/lead transfer pricing implications of business changes
- Ensure alignment between transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and operational activities
- Act as a primary point of contact for transfer pricing technical expertise within certain assigned areas
- Lead, mentor, and develop tax and transfer pricing team members and contribute to overall team capability building
- Support internal controls, governance processes, and financial statement disclosures related to transfer pricing and Country-by-Country Reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Tax, completed and verified prior to start
- Ten (10) years of experience in transfer pricing within a multinational corporation, or accounting firm in a private, public, government or military environment
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, JD) and/or professional certification (CPA, EA)
- Prior experience in a large, matrixed, global organization
- Strong technical knowledge of US Treasury Regulations 1.482, the Transfer Pricing Guidelines from the OECD and international tax principles
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-country projects and engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong judgment, accountability, and ownership of outcomes
- Operates comfortably in complexity and ambiguity, balancing technical rigor with business practicality
- Buils trust through collaboration, clear communication, and consistent execution

Work location
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN OR, Washington, DC, OR Austin, TX.

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $221,591 - $270,834, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
