About the role

The Sr. Manager, Technical Solutions is responsible for developing new opportunities and creating positive outcomes to drive strategic business growth in the defense and aerospace sector.

The Marvin Group is a leading defense contractor specializing in military aerospace and vehicle systems. Based in Southern California, the company consists of three divisions: Marvin Engineering (military Alternate Mission Equipment), Marvin Test Solutions (armament Test Equipment), and Marvin Land Systems (power and thermal management systems). With over 60 years of experience, The Marvin Group collaborates with major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain new business opportunities aligned with near and long-term business strategies to grow revenue.
  • Lead capture strategies and campaigns in support of opportunities.
  • Build extensive industry relationships with a strong understanding of existing and future programs within the customer base.
  • Identify gaps in capabilities and solutions within the customer base to expand The Marvin Group’s offerings.
  • Support quote and proposal generation efforts, including serving as a capture manager when assigned and developing win strategies with the capture team.
  • Arrange business meetings with existing and prospective customers.
  • Prepare and lead customer on-site and remote engagements, including developing necessary briefing materials.
  • Share all relevant customer feedback with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare for and participate in select industry conferences and exhibits.
  • Monitor the progress of companywide goals and initiatives and adjust plans accordingly.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management or Engineering, or 10+ years of experience in sales, program management, operations, or engineering.
  • Moderate level of technical acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements; all applicants must be “U.S. persons” within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).

Travel

Moderate travel requirements (20%).

Pay

Base salary range: $145,000 – $195,000 (based on skills, education, and experience).
