Senior Manager, Tax
About the role
At NAVEX, we’re transforming the world—making it safer, more ethical, and ensuring every voice is heard. That’s real impact. Our high-performance culture is driven by our values. We move with speed, passion and purpose — as one team. We are bold in our ideas, accountable in our actions, and committed to doing the right things right. At NAVEX, we're looking for a strategic and collaborative tax leader who thrives in a dynamic, global environment.
Responsibilities
Own NAVEX’s global tax function, including U.S. federal, state, and local income tax, international direct tax, and indirect tax compliance across a growing multinational footprint
Lead tax strategy to optimize NAVEX’s tax structure, manage the effective tax rate, support transactions, and position the company for continued PE-backed growth and future liquidity events
Oversee the ASC 740 tax provision process, ensuring accurate, supportable tax accounting and financial reporting
Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities to deliver high-quality compliance, planning, and risk management
Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, international expansion, legal entity design, cross-border transactions, and other tax-sensitive business decisions
Lead international tax matters, including transfer pricing, withholding tax, Pillar Two readiness, and global tax planning as non-U.S. operations expand
Monitor and assess tax law and regulatory developments, translating complex changes into practical business guidance
Lead tax risk management activities, audits, examinations, and tax controversy matters
Scale and modernize the tax function through process improvements, strong controls, technology enablement, and effective cross-functional leadership
Provide strategic oversight of indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, VAT, and GST
Lead tax risk management activities, audits, examinations, and tax controversy matters
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, CEO, and Board, communicating complex tax issues with clarity and business focus
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
CPA or MST preferred; equivalent experience considered
7+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant responsibility for U.S. corporate income tax and international tax matters
Strong knowledge of ASC 740, corporate tax compliance, tax provision processes, and tax planning strategies
Experience supporting multinational organizations with operations across multiple jurisdictions
Meaningful exposure to indirect tax (sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and property tax) sufficient to own the compliance function directly, direct external resources with confidence, and develop a junior team member into a capable specialist over time
High ownership orientation — you identify issues before they surface, come with recommendations rather than questions, and are comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a lean, high-trust finance organization
Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical excellence, risk management, and commercial objectives
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and build trusted relationships
Qualifications
Culture Agility. Comfort working in a fast-paced, candid environment that values innovation, healthy debate, and follow-through
AI Readiness. Curiosity and willingness to use AI and emerging technologies to elevate your work and deliver smarter outcomes
Fuel performance and outcomes. Leverage your job competencies and champion NAVEX’s core values

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong analytical and organizational skills
