Senior Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics - Food Safety Product Removals/Supply Chain
About the Team
The Food Safety Compliance team leads the development and execution of compliance strategies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across the organization. This team collaborates cross-functionally with internal partners and external stakeholders to manage compliance risks and guide policy implementation. As subject matter experts, they monitor regulatory trends, provide insights to leadership, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The team fosters a culture of integrity and accountability, driving consistent application of policies and procedures while promoting effective communication and leadership to uphold Walmart’s commitment to ethical business practices.
Responsibilities
- Execute food safety and health & wellness product recalls and removals.
- Provide “on call” coverage and support to stores/clubs and various business partners outside of office hours and on weekends.
- Craft customer notifications and reply to FDA, USDA, and State regulatory recall effectiveness checks.
- Update and maintain corporate Seafood HACCP plan, Preventive Controls plan, and Sanitary Food Transportation Act, for the Grocery Distribution Center network.
- Manage, monitor, and improve 3rd party Food Safety Audits for Distribution Centers and Fulfillment Centers.
- Provide accept/reject decisions, based on food safety risk, for incoming truckloads based on time/temperatures.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in governance and compliance strategy with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage compliance risk and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex compliance information clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret legislation, conduct impact assessments, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement in compliance and ethics programs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
- 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's in Business Administration.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
