Job Summary/Description

Entergy Arkansas is seeking a strategic and dynamic Senior Manager of Resource Planning to lead and advance the generation strategy in support of customer growth, system reliability, affordability, and sustainability goals. This highly visible leadership role sits at the intersection of energy planning, regulatory strategy, market operations, and stakeholder engagement.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead Integrated Resource Planning: Direct the development of and oversee the management of Entergy Arkansas’s (EAL) integrated resource planning process, as well as its integrated resource plan (IRP), ensuring a balanced approach to cost, reliability, risk, and decarbonization.

  • Evaluate new generation technologies, regulatory and market trends, and system needs to inform long-term generation strategy and supply plan.

  • Support Customer and Economic Growth: Develop resource strategies to serve emerging large load customers including data centers and industrial expansions. Collaborate with Power Development, Transmission Planning, and System Planning to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions.

  • Engage with Internal Market Teams: Ensure compliance with MISO’s annual resource adequacy requirements and support capacity offer strategy development in partnership with System Planning & Operations (SPO).

  • Drive Regulatory Strategy and Testimony: Lead preparation of regulatory filings related to resource planning, procurement, and strategy. Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Legal to develop testimony and manage discovery processes before the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC). Serve as a sponsoring witness in proceedings and defend complex planning decisions through written and oral testimony.

  • Support resource procurement processes: Serve as EAL’s lead working with SPO to establish appropriate scope and schedule associated with resource request for proposals (RFP)

  • Represent EAL in working groups as RFPs are administered and ultimately as resources are selected from those RFPs

  • Provide guidance to commercial teams during negotiations

  • Own recommendations made to EAL management with respect to which resources EAL should strike on and which resources it should not strike on

  • Coordinate Internal and External Stakeholders: Build and maintain productive relationships with executive leadership, technical teams, regulatory staff, and external stakeholders. Represent Entergy Arkansas in cross-functional working groups, technical conferences, and regulatory discussions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum education required of the position: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum Experience Required Of The Position: 8+ years with significant specific knowledge and work-related experience in regulatory, finance, operations, and customer service.

  • Experience with regulatory proceedings including sponsorship of testimony and discovery responses.

  • Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required Of The Position: Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies Superior writing, presentation, and speaking skills required
