Job Summary
The Senior Regional Sales Manager is a key member of the sales leadership team, leading the Southwest Region and responsible for driving revenue growth. This role involves developing and executing commercial strategies, building strong customer relationships, and aligning the team with the company's objectives.
Responsibilities
- Achieve revenue, growth, and share gain targets through sales and marketing partnerships and execution.
- Expand the company's brand presence with Pharma, Biotech, Governmental Agencies, and Academia market segments.
- Develop and implement a strategy that leads to increased customer value creation and market share gain within the designated geography.
- Work with stakeholders and business leaders to build long-term strategies that include products and workflow solutions to specific customer segments.
- Balance the need to achieve current business goals with planning and investment for future growth.
- Lead and develop the sales team to build capability and competence, focusing on improving individual selling capability, broadening the technical competence of the field team, ensuring adherence to sales strategies, and providing guidance for professional growth.
- Advocate for the customer, product quality, and compliance, providing excellence in customer solutions.
- Lead the activities of the team, setting quotas, defining goals for sales professionals to optimize performance, developing and accessing activity and sales metrics to meet growing objectives.
- Develop, forecast, and monitor budgets in conjunction with operational resources to ensure efficient utilization.
Qualifications
- Minimum required education: Bachelor's Degree in a Life Sciences field.
- Minimum 5+ years sales leadership experience in a complex, dynamic, commercial environment operating across the Southwest Region in the Genomics or Synthetic Biology industry.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation, and financial/business.
- Experience building collaborative partnerships with functional support areas.
- Strong leadership with ability to influence, inspire, and lead change.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and writing.
- Proven ability to deal with difficult problems or issues; an ability to provide a balanced perspective that optimizes the trade-offs between the business financials, the business opportunities, the company strategy, and the external environment.
- Ability to operate within a matrix structure, prior experience working in large / medium corporate environment, or a diversified, complex organization is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions/ Schedule
- Requires the ability and willingness to travel extensively within the Southwest regions for customer meetings, internal business gatherings, seminars, and conferences.
- This role necessitates flexibility for stays, accounting for up to 50% of the time.
- Occasional travel within North America may be expected.
Salary Range
- $170k-$190k base, uncapped incentive target $70k, car allowance
