Senior Manager, Product Marketing (Hybrid @ Bellevue, WA)
OfferUp believes all value starts local. Our marketplace makes it easier for people and businesses to find more of what they need, right where they are—from great deals and secondhand finds to local services, rentals, jobs, and new customers. We're building the next chapter of OfferUp, and Consumer Marketing has an important job to do: create future supply and demand, capture existing demand efficiently, reactivate people who already know us, and connect our investment to our strongest local marketplaces.
About the role
This role sits in our product org, reporting to our Senior Director of Product, and is a unique hybrid of hands-on individual contributor (IC) work and people management. You will directly oversee our product marketing team while also rolling up your sleeves to execute campaigns and conduct data analysis to drive key business outcomes. We're looking for someone seasoned in consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing and traditional go-to-market motions, whose instincts skew toward growth marketing in a fast-paced environment: spotting supply and demand opportunities, moving quickly while the window is open, and measuring real business outcomes. You'll work directly with data and AI tooling and will be hands-on with LLM agents and self-serve experimentation. The sweet spot is a marketer with foundational marketing expertise in storytelling, positioning, and messaging frameworks, combined with a growth operator's mindset and speed.
Responsibilities
- Turn marketplace supply and demand signals into marketing action: own the loop from identifying to executing campaigns quickly and in a scalable way.
- Drive consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing across push, email, and in-app channels: activation, engagement, and reactivation for both buyers and sellers.
- Work both sides of the marketplace: grow supply where demand is outpacing it, and demand where supply runs deep.
- Build repeatable playbooks and a rolling demand calendar with engineering and Data Science, so recurring opportunities launch fast and get smarter every cycle.
- Design and read your own experiments (we use Statsig), and measure impact in marketplace outcomes.
- Own positioning, messaging, and launch go-to-market for the product surfaces and marketplace moments you touch.
- Brief and enable creative, lifecycle, paid, and comms partners with insight-led messaging that scales from national beats to local markets.
- Use AI tooling and working SQL to self-serve analysis, compress campaign operations, and multiply your own output.
Requirements
- 8+ years spanning product marketing, lifecycle/engagement marketing, or growth marketing in consumer tech—marketplaces or e-commerce strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and scaling high-performing marketing teams.
- Depth in consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing: you've owned push, email, and in-app programs and can show the engagement and retention outcomes.
- Traditional GTM craft with a portfolio to prove it: positioning, messaging frameworks, and launches led end-to-end.
- A growth marketer's bias in a fast-paced environment: comfort with short cycles, event- and trend-driven opportunity, and incrementality as the bar.
- Working SQL and comfort in a modern data warehouse (BigQuery preferred). You validate numbers yourself.
- Hands-on AI fluency: you use LLM tools in real workflows today, with good judgment about where they need human review.
- Experimentation literacy: you've designed and read A/B and geo-based tests and understand holdouts.
- Excellent, fast writing that holds up at every altitude, and clear communication that surfaces risks early.
- A low-ego, high-ownership approach. You care more about catching the window than protecting the plan.
- Ability to cultivate talent, provide clear professional development, and foster a culture of ownership and collaboration.
- Track record of leading through influence, aligning cross-functional partners, and navigating complex organizational structures to deliver shared business goals.
Nice to have
- Local or hyperlocal marketplace experience where market-level (DMA) thinking is second nature.
- Experience marketing around weather, live events, or release calendars: retail, ticketing, travel, resale, or CPG demand planning.
- Familiarity with CRM/lifecycle platforms (Braze, Iterable, or similar) and geo-based or matched-market measurement.
- Prompt-engineering or light scripting skills, or experience partnering with data science on forecasting.
What success looks like
- High-confidence demand signals get actioned quickly—or explicitly no-go'd with rationale. Windows stop passing us by.
- Campaigns show measurable incremental transactions, GMV, and listings versus control markets, on both sides of the marketplace.
- Lifecycle and engagement programs demonstrably lift activation, engagement, and reactivation.
- The demand calendar calls opportunities before they peak, and its hit rate improves each quarter.
- The playbooks and AI workflows you build make the whole marketing team faster—not just your own campaigns.
Why OfferUp
This is an opportunity to build a marketing motion most companies can't run yet: AI-detected demand, activated with local precision, measured in real marketplace outcomes. You'll inherit live demand intelligence, established channels, and real scale.
