Senior Manager - Marketing Strategy
About the role
As the Senior Manager of Marketing Strategy, you’ll drive data-driven retention and churn-reduction programs for Verizon Business Group. You’ll develop targeted marketing initiatives, build business cases for financial approval, and translate complex data into actionable insights that shape audience strategies across online and offline channels. The role serves as a strategic bridge between executive leadership, Sales, and cross-functional teams (Business Intelligence, Finance, Martech) to align retention goals and accelerate high-impact campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage customer retention and churn-reduction strategies.
- Build business cases to secure investment in retention initiatives.
- Track and report performance of retention campaigns and initiatives.
- Lead strategic analysis and insight generation to support retention strategies; interface directly with Sales executive leadership.
- Use customer analytics to profile customer behavior, engagement, and activity, then apply findings to optimize communication strategies.
- Distill complex data sets into concise, actionable insights to refine marketing campaign strategies and combat churn.
- Package fact-based recommendations and “tell a story” with data for leadership.
- Act as a conduit to cross-functional teams (Business Intelligence, Martech, Finance) to align on retention goals and strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience in marketing analytics, demonstrated through work, military service, or specialized training.
- Experience with marketing analytics and driving actionable insights.
- Experience with data visualization and communicating strategies/outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration (MBA), Communications, or a related field.
- Telecom or device marketing experience.
- Experience analyzing large datasets to derive actionable insights; familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, CRM software, or data visualization platforms like Tableau.
- Understanding of direct marketing and Sales best practices across key tactics (Email, Direct Mail, SMS, Digital, Outbound, etc).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Schedule
This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office, with the remainder worked from home. Scheduled weekly hours are 40.
Pay
The annual salary range for this full-time, incentive-based position is:
- $105,000 – $201,000 (most locations)
- $115,500 – $201,000 (Illinois, Maryland, New York)
