- Own the infrastructure strategy and roadmap, partnering with senior management to align technology initiatives with business priorities, risk tolerances and AI-enabled innovation.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of infrastructure professionals, building strong technical capability, accountability and succession planning.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), clear escalation paths, and operational SLAs/SLOs.
- Drive capacity planning, resource allocation and advance technological transformation.
- Multi-Cloud & On-Premises Architecture
- Oversee day-to-day operations and strategic evolution of enterprise infrastructure across VMware, Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI.
- Champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to standardize deployments across distinct cloud environments.
- Establish governance models for multi-cloud management, workload placement, cross-cloud networking, and platform interconnectivity.
- Develop the systems infrastructure, governance, identity and data foundations required for enabling enterprise AI.
- Reliability, Performance & Operations
- Maintain target uptime, resilience, and business continuity across all production environments.
- Implement centralized monitoring, alerting, and observability tools across hybrid environments.
- Partner with Security teams to enforce identity access management (IAM), patch management, zero-trust architectures, and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, PCI-DSS).
- Lead through critical events including major outages, cybersecurity incidents and recovery efforts.
- Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy, testing, ransomware preparedness, recovery capabilities and infrastructure governance to support security, compliance and business continuity.
- Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage infrastructure budgets and spends, vendor relationships, and licensing agreements to ensure cost effective operations.
- Evaluate and select vendors, negotiate SLAs, contracts and performance expectations.
- Drive FinOps practices—monitoring multi-cloud consumption costs, eliminating waste, and optimizing usage across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
- Experience: 12+ years in Systems/Cloud Engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a formal technical leadership or management role.
- OS & Virtualization Mastery: Deep operational expertise with VMware vSphere/vCenter, Microsoft Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy), and Enterprise Linux environments.
- Multi-Cloud Expertise: Proven track record running production workloads across major cloud hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and database/enterprise clouds (OCI).
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Hands-on background with automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer, or cloud-native IaC frameworks).
- Networking & Security: Solid understanding of multi-cloud networking (VPCs, VNets, DirectConnect, ExpressRoute, FastConnect), DNS, IAM, and hybrid connectivity.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience designing and testing robust DR/BCP strategies across hybrid/multi-cloud setups.
- Relevant enterprise certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, OCI Architect Professional, VCP-DCV).
- Background in FinOps and cloud cost management tools.
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, AKS) and CI/CD pipelines.
