Infrastructure Strategy & Technology Evolution

Contribute to the definition and execution of infrastructure strategies and platform roadmaps. Identify emerging technologies and evaluate new capabilities, tools, and services. Lead the direction, investment priorities, and modernization initiatives for infrastructure platforms.

Platform Engineering & People Leadership

Provide direct leadership to infrastructure engineering teams. Set clear expectations, goals, and performance standards. Coach and develop team members to enhance their technical depth, ownership, and operational maturity. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Lead staffing, workload prioritization, and skill development for infrastructure teams.

Infrastructure Operations & Execution

Own the day-to-day reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure. Lead incident response and ensure consistent execution of incident, problem, and change processes. Manage vendor and managed service provider relationships.

Architecture Review Board (ARB) Ownership

Chair and own the Infrastructure Architecture Review Board (ARB). Ensure architecture decisions align with current operations, future state strategy, security, and resiliency requirements. Use ARB outcomes to inform platform roadmaps and technical investment recommendations. Escalate significant architectural or technology risks with options and recommendations.

Architecture Alignment & Standards Execution

Execute against enterprise infrastructure architecture and technology standards. Validate design intent, prevent architectural drift, and enforce standard implementation patterns through engineering teams. Partner with Infrastructure Architects to surface technical risk and debt.

Integration & Continuous Improvement

Integrate acquired resources and technologies into standard infrastructure platforms. Drive lifecycle management, modernization, and technical debt reduction. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure health and ARB effectiveness. Improve operational maturity and delivery discipline over time.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Service Delivery, Cybersecurity, and IT leadership on platform roadmaps and investment decisions. Communicate infrastructure risks, outages, and delivery status clearly and proactively.

Education & Experience

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum Experience: 10+ years of IT-related experience in enterprise infrastructure environments. 5+ years of demonstrated people-leadership experience, including leading technical teams and managing performance, priorities, and development. 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, engineering, or operations roles.
• Required Knowledge & Skills: Strong operational and execution leadership. Deep technical knowledge across networking, server and cloud infrastructure, M365/collaboration platforms, endpoint and device management. Working knowledge of ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change). Ability to lead cross-domain architecture discussions. Vendor and MSP oversight experience.
• Preferred Experience: Operating architecture review processes. Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks. Experience in regulated or manufacturing environments.
