Senior Manager, IT Finance

About the role

Gilead Sciences is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and delivering life-changing medicines to people living with serious illnesses. We are seeking a Senior Manager – IT Finance to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of finance and boundary applications, ensuring stability, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
• Drive end-to-end delivery, including enhancements, implementations, and system lifecycle management.
• Serve as system owner across key applications, ensuring effective support, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Lead vendor coordination, including performance management, issue resolution, and roadmap alignment.
• Persistently partner with Finance teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Oversee program planning and execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Manage escalations, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong business partnership, technical understanding, and operational leadership.
• Experience with BlackLine, 2Klicks, GLSU, Alliant Royalties, OneSource, Salesforce PRM.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA finance integrations.
• Experience in Life Sciences or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOX.
• Proven leadership experience managing programs, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Deep understanding of finance processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, tax compliance, royalties, leasing, and partner management.
• Experience with application lifecycle management, including onboarding, optimization, and decommissioning.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is Bay Area: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Raleigh: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
