About the role
Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military and veteran families by improving their financial, emotional, and social well-being.
Responsibilities
- Own responsibility for year-round regional media outreach, reporting, and staff media training in support of regional program delivery.
- Execute PR plans that detail strategy, tactics, messaging, channels, outcomes, and measurements to achieve success for donor-related and organizational campaigns, promotions, and special events.
- Help develop and leverage an editorial calendar to support full mission content.
- Generate reports and analyze data to measure and share results of PR campaigns and partner activations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in media relations and strategic communications.
- Experience with Cision and Monday.com preferred.
- Microsoft Office 365 proficiency.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- MVR – Motor Vehicle Report (annual).
- Criminal background check.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of integrated, multi-channel public relations.
- The ability to analyze information and convert it into messages and communications appropriate to the target audience.
- Experience with media pitching, measuring results, and analyzing PR-related data metrics.
- Excellent writing skills and a team player who exemplifies the core values of Operation Homefront.

Benefits
General office and sedentary work environment. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and after hours.
Pay
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Remote work arrangement. Occasional travel to meet with stakeholders and attend events.
