About the role

The Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering is responsible for leading the Industrial Engineering function to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and scalable manufacturing processes across Lenze Americas' production operations. This role provides technical leadership, people management, and strategic direction to a team of engineers and technicians supporting manufacturing stability, process optimization, test engineering, cost-improvement projects, and equipment reliability. The Senior Manager of Industrial Engineering collaborates extensively with Operations, Logistics, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, Service, and IT/OT teams to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Industrial Engineering team, setting clear priorities, expectations, and performance goals aligned to site objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Set and execute the Industrial Engineering strategic roadmap to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and productivity throughout the operation.
  • Lead, as the program manager, high-impact Lean/CI initiatives, including labor standards, line balancing, layout optimization, material flow, OEE, and process capability improvements.
  • Use data, KPIs, and structured problem solving to prioritize opportunities, track business impact, and sustain improvements.
  • Provide senior-level oversight for manufacturing processes, standard work, SOPs, work instructions, process audits, and engineering change implementation.
  • Guide escalation support for complex manufacturing, test, tooling, equipment, and reliability issues.
  • Advance automation, digitalization, MES/ERP-enabled improvements, and test system strategy in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and IT/OT.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT/OT to align priorities, resources, and execution plans.
  • Govern the IE/CI project portfolio, including prioritization, benefits tracking, risk management, and sustainment. This role owns the overall CI Program for Operations.
  • Develop capital project inputs, business cases, ROI analysis, and implementation plans for equipment, test systems, automation, and layout improvements.
  • Communicate initiative status, KPIs, risks, and resource needs to leadership while ensuring consistent engineering standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • 6–8+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement, including leadership of engineering or technical teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex IE and CI initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, labor standards, work measurement, capacity planning, standard work, KPI management, and structured problem solving.
  • Experience developing business cases, supporting CAPEX planning, and implementing equipment, test, automation, or layout improvements.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MES systems, SAP experience preferred, and the ability to use data to guide decisions and track results.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, communication, change management, and cross-functional influencing skills.
  • Experience in an ISO regulated electronics manufacturing or assembly environment strongly preferred.

Pay

$145,000 - $160,000 (Compensation is an estimate and depends on skills, knowledge, education, and experience)
