What you’ll do on a typical day
- Create, manage, and implement project execution plans and production readiness testing.
- Provide project management and guidance to project team members to ensure timeline and budget compliance.
- Creatively problem solve to remove roadblocks and meet business needs.
- Collaborate with business process owners to identify and scope areas of opportunity.
- Provide leadership for project execution to internal departments and external clients; offer direction and guidance to the project team and communicate project requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Hold others accountable to project commitments.
- Influence without authority to achieve project goals.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the full scope of work including contracts, requirements, dependencies, schedules, budget, logistics, labor, materials, equipment and other pertinent project needs.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive project playbook with identifiable critical paths, task dependencies, and major milestones.
- Proactively identify project risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Establish solid collaboration and working relationships with senior leadership to support company goals.
- Ensure all new sites are set up for success to operate in the ‘GXO Way’.
- Develop change management strategies to support project goals.
- Provide feedback and appropriately escalate risks and/or project roadblocks.
- Support other project managers and project team members as needed.
- Create and provide project status reporting for internal and external audiences.
What you need to succeed at GXO
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
- 4 years of experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously of varying scope and size in a supply chain, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Solid understanding of operational and financial drivers within supply chain environments.
- Solid understanding of change management processes and methodologies.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
It’d be great if you also have:
- An advanced degree in Project Management, Supply Chain or related field.
- PMP certification.
- Lever Six Sigma certification.
