About the role

This position provides HR leadership and guidance by partnering with business leaders at sites, branches, or within functions. Under guidance from senior HR leaders, you will implement strategic HR initiatives in Talent Management, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, Change Management, and Compensation and Benefits. You will execute recruiting strategies for mid to lower-level professional, managerial, administrative, clerical, maintenance, and warehouse positions, as well as handle retention strategies, legal compliance, payroll, communication, orientation, training, and some administrative functions. In some locations, additional duties outside of the Human Resource role may be required.

Location: Hybrid role (not full remote) with approximately 30% travel. Priority for candidates based out of one of the following DSV locations: Madison, MS; Newton, MS; Lake City, GA; Cherry Valley, IL; Goodyear, AZ; Burbank, WA; Reno, NV; Denver, CO & Gilbert, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to guide and support business initiatives and align them with the Human Resource strategy.
  • Act as a change agent, driving the transformation agenda by developing transition/change plans, leading communication, and engagement activities.
  • Establish robust recruitment processes and procedures to ensure the attraction and retention of talent.
  • Implement, interpret, and administer employee and labor relations programs, projects, tasks, or initiatives aligning with company goals.
  • Oversee employment, employee relations, labor relations, compensation administration, performance management, benefits, recognition, training, and planning of staffing requirements and workforce communications.
  • Be visible and accessible within the organization.
  • Facilitate and/or provide training and development (including orientation) to management and the workforce.
  • Provide coaching and consultation to managers and employees to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs.
  • Drive the exit interview process, analyze data, and make recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Provide consultation to management and respond to all employee matters to gain resolution.
  • Promote diversity-related initiatives within assigned area or country.
  • Support timely and effective communication and administration of deliverables.
  • Utilize internal and external data, generate and analyze reports to provide a basis for business cases and meet regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Professional HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and software.
  • Previous experience with payroll processing and timekeeping systems.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and distance vision.
  • Must be able to travel by plane and automobile.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Pay

For this position, the expected base pay range is $120,880.00 – $151,100.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
