About the role
The Senior Manager, Global Commercial Strategy plays a senior operating role in establishing and owning the bridge between Operations and Commercial functions, with primary responsibility for the non-branded / industrial business across the Wonderful Pistachios and Almonds business.
Responsibilities
- Create a Competitive Advantage through WPA’s Supply Chain and Improve Customer Satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary Commercial Strategy owner for processes that require tight coordination between Operations and Commercial teams.
- Identify supply chain process gaps, root causes, and execution risks; implement practical improvements that reduce waste, improve profitability and customer experience, strengthen controls, and increase scalability.
- Identify customer needs and adjust existing processes to best meet needs and improve overall experience of global customer-base.
- Ensure connection and transparency between Wonderful’s best-in-class global supply chain advantages and critical customer needs to reduce friction and complexity.
- Lead cross-functional operating processes that connect commercial and operational priorities, including quote-to-collect, global pistachio go-to-market, almond offer allocation, customer service enablement, and other recurring commercial operating processes.
- Partner with Operations, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and other commercial partners to clarify ownership, improve data flow, strengthen tools and governance, surface risks, and translate operational constraints into clear customer-facing actions.
- Support branded business needs where shared processes, data, tools, or operational dependencies overlap.
- Manage high-priority commercial initiatives from scoping through implementation, including timelines, deliverables, stakeholder alignment, and risk management.
- Facilitate collaboration across teams and geographies to drive decisions, remove barriers, and ensure smooth execution of strategic initiatives.
- Establish clear workplans, meeting cadences, accountability mechanisms, and communications for complex cross-functional projects.
- Lead through influence in a matrixed organization, ensuring stakeholders understand roles, decisions, dependencies, and next steps.
- Prepare executive-ready briefing documents, presentation materials, analyses, and recommendations for senior leadership meetings.
- Synthesize commercial, customer, market, operational, and financial inputs to frame business issues and support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Operations, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in commercial strategy, sales strategy, business operations, management consulting, finance, or global sales, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven record building, owning, and improving cross-functional operating processes that connect Operations, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and other commercial partners.
- Strong understanding of non-branded / industrial commercial processes, sales operations, customer service needs, supply availability, allocation, logistics, and end-to-end execution, with the ability to coordinate with branded teams where shared processes or operational dependencies exist.
- Ability to translate operational data, constraints, timelines, and risks into clear commercial guidance, customer-facing actions, and executive-ready recommendations.
- Experience developing and maintaining dashboards, trackers, tools, process metrics, and operating routines that improve visibility, accountability, and customer service execution.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional commercial initiatives, process improvement efforts, and go-to-market programs in complex, matrixed, and geographically dispersed organizations.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes, clarify ownership gaps, and move from ambiguity to practical execution.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize commercial, customer, operational, logistics, and financial inputs into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Ability to lead through influence, build alignment across functions, and drive adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working without direct authority.
- Experience in consumer packaged goods, agriculture, food, industrial sales, or international markets is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority processes and initiatives while maintaining a customer-focused and strategic perspective.
Additional Information
Pay Range: $180,000 - $190,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
