About the role

Rippling provides businesses with a comprehensive platform to manage HR, IT, and Finance functions in a single system. As a Senior Manager, Global Benefits, you will lead the global benefits function, overseeing a team of Global Benefits Managers to ensure compliance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across 40+ countries.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Rippling's global EOR benefits strategy across 40+ countries, ensuring offerings are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective relative to market and competitors.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Global Benefits Managers, setting priorities, managing performance, and ensuring coverage across all country portfolios.
  • Drive the annual and multi-year benefits roadmap, including new country launches, plan enhancements, carrier consolidation, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefits issues, incidents, and cross-functional decisions.
  • Own the global renewal calendar and ensure all country renewals are executed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to customers and employees.
  • Manage strategic broker and carrier relationships (e.g., Allianz, Sterling, Lockton, local market carriers), including contract negotiations, performance management, and relationship development.
  • Lead complex, multi-geo renewals involving 40+ countries simultaneously, coordinating across brokers, engineering, product, and operations.
  • Evaluate and onboard new carriers and brokers to improve coverage, reduce cost, or expand into new markets.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering on benefits system design, configuration, automation, and new country launches to ensure benefits are accurately built and maintained in the Rippling platform.
  • Drive operational excellence across the benefits function: build and improve processes, documentation, SOPs, and tooling to support scale, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Own the benefits reconciliation process, ensuring billing, payments, and enrollment data are accurate across all markets.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, and Operations to ensure enrollment, billing, payments, and taxation processes are operationally sound.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance on regulatory changes, statutory requirements, and risk mitigation across all countries of operation.
  • Develop and own the benefits communication strategy for EOR employees and customers, including renewal comms, benefits guides, and onboarding materials.
  • Enable internal teams (Operations, Support, Implementation, Sales, and Customer Success) on country-specific benefits landscapes and program details.
  • Represent the Global Benefits function in cross-functional leadership forums and planning processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in global benefits, benefits consulting, or an in-house HR/benefits leadership function within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to build, develop, and lead a high-performing team.
  • Proven track record of independently owning and delivering complex programs from strategy through execution.
  • Strong commercial acumen: experience with pricing, cost modeling, carrier negotiations, and margin management.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across different time zones and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, make sound judgment calls, and drive decisions with limited guidance at a senior level.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex benefits information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences (employees, customers, executives).
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Pay

$175,000 - $235,000 USD per year (US San Francisco Bay Area)

Schedule

Full-time, remote position with flexibility to work in-office at least 3 days a week.
