About the role

This leadership opportunity combines financial planning, performance analysis, and reporting in a major infrastructure organization. The role is ideal for a finance leader with strong experience in complex, regulated environments. You will work closely with senior leadership to provide financial insight that supports operational performance, strategic planning, and informed decision-making. The position also offers the opportunity to lead and develop a finance team while contributing to broader business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance analysis.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate financial reports for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to support business performance.
  • Develop financial models and reporting tools to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with operational and functional leaders to provide financial guidance and meaningful business insights.
  • Support long-term financial planning and evaluate financial performance against established objectives.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support process improvements that strengthen financial reporting, planning, and analysis.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop finance professionals while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and other finance projects as required.

Requirements

  • CPA designation or another relevant professional accounting designation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Significant progressive experience in FP&A, financial reporting, and business partnering, ideally at the Senior Manager level.
  • Strong experience within the utility or another regulated industry.
  • Experience in the water utility sector is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop finance professionals.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a complex, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
