About the role
The Senior Manager, Finance & Strategy, DashMart will oversee the finance and strategy for the next billion-dollar business at DoorDash. This includes sizing opportunities, making strategic decisions, overseeing financial reporting and forecasting, holding cross-functional partners accountable, mentoring and developing new talent, advising the executive team, and building models to evaluate partnership opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Work with GMs and product leaders to size opportunities and make strategic decisions and investments
- Oversee financial reporting and forecasting, ensuring a clear understanding of growth, margin expansion, and competitive positioning
- Hold cross-functional partners accountable to their financial plan and outcomes, and work with them to get things back on track if they miss
- Mentor and develop new & existing talent to help them achieve their professional goals and scale the team
- Advise the executive team on ways to invest resources more efficiently, move faster, and do more
- Build models and develop analytical frameworks to evaluate new partnership opportunities, understand ROI / payback of various initiatives, and forecast demand more accurately
- Ensure necessary processes, systems, and tools are in place to streamline operations and help scale quickly
Requirements
- 9+ years of strategic finance, operational finance, FP&A, or investment banking experience at a high-growth technology startup or well-established company
- 3+ years of team management experience, with a passion for building and developing teams
- Experience owning budgets for major functional areas within an organization, and working with operators on day-to-day execution to hit targets
- Highly motivated leader with a desire to exert influence on the direction of the company and build a new business
- Ability to provide full financial oversight and leadership for DashMart, directly influencing strategy on growth and development
- Strong collaboration skills, able to work with colleagues and cross-functional partners to develop and own new processes to drive financial clarity, identify opportunities, and measure risks
- Comfortable working with complex data, distilling insights into actionable recommendations, and working with others to convert them into tangible results
- Experience supporting planning processes and special projects to improve, scale, and automate forecasting and reporting
- Able to gain a deeper understanding of growing a new business within an established company and operating one at scale
Qualifications
- Proven ability to earn the trust of senior leaders and influence their thinking on key strategic decisions
- Experience building and reviewing highly complex models, and developing a team that sets the gold standard for financial modeling
- Comfortable operating at both a high-level and at the lowest level of detail, leading by example and indirect influence
- Experience with logistics, on-demand services, marketplaces, and grocery (nice to have)
