About the role
The Senior Manager, Equipment Procurement plays a crucial role in the Equipment and Asset Procurement team at RSCS, a Yum! Brands Co-op. Reporting to the Senior Director, Equipment & Asset Procurement, this role oversees the procurement and management of important categories within Yum! Brands, including fryers, production lines, and other key equipment.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive category profiles including market reports, demand analysis, trend analysis, competitive benchmarking, innovation searches, and voice of customer analysis to create and execute short- and long-term strategies for each assigned product category.
- Develop supplier relationships, product category expertise, and manage all procurement activities and negotiations for the product categories assigned on behalf of RSCS and its franchisee members for all Brands.
- Manage data and analytics, creating quantitative bases for defining success. Gather, analyze, and apply market intelligence including cost drivers, market dynamics, capacity utilization metrics, and macroeconomics to anticipate issues and opportunities.
- Influence decision-making and outcomes, both internally and externally, using expertise within assigned categories. Conduct Request for Proposals (RFPs) using the RSCS Sourcing Process. Collaborate with Brand Operations and relevant stakeholders on new product development, product launches, and DES RMI processes.
- Ensure continuous supply of assigned product categories during promotional and non-promotional periods through collaboration with the S&OP Team. Assume new assignments and demonstrate interest in improving knowledge and offering solutions.
- Provide leadership and guidance when necessary. Travel up to 10%, or as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain, with a preference for a Master’s or MBA.
- Required Experience: 6+ years of experience in equipment procurement, business strategy, program management, or operations, preferably in the restaurant/QSR industry.
- Skills: Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills; self-starter with the ability to prioritize and meet responsibilities in a fast-paced environment; strong negotiation and analytical skills; experience in cost analysis, supplier development, forecasting, and contingency planning; ability to communicate effectively and proficient in PC-based applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
